Spring Break Morning Activities

More Info

Spring Break on the Gulf Shore promises weather in the 60s, and water at about 64F. So while you're waiting for the air to warm up from those chilly mornings before you jump into the water, there are plenty of Spring Break morning activities to do around Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Best of all, with all of the possibilities, there is something for everyone, from shopping to nature hikes to games.

After cooking breakfast in your condo, you and your friends can head out into the cool morning and find an array of activities to choose from. Head over to SanRoc Cay for shops, art classes, dolphin and snorkel cruises, parasailing, guided Jet Ski tours, kayaking, and more! Or you can re-visit one of your favorite childhood memories and try your hand at mini-golfing at Pirates Island Adventure Golf, complete with two 18-hole courses, waterfalls, tropical plants, sea fog, caves, and more. At Gulf Bowl, there is something for everyone in your group: bowling, laser tag in a multi-level arena, adult pool table room, a 2500 sq. ft. arcade, a seafood restaurant, and a snack bar. Since it's March, many of the younger kids are still in school, so you and your friends have plenty of room to move about and see which one really is the best at laser tag.

If you enjoy taking in nature, then look no further than Oak Hollow Farm, where you and your friends can go on guided horseback rides through a 300 acre scenic farm, wander through nature trails, or see which of you is best at horseshoes. Best of all, since it's only open by appointment, you won't have to worry about any overcrowding. There isn't a lack of hiking and biking trails in Gulf Shores, where you can take in the local flora and fauna. Take your pick from Historic Blakeley State Park, Meaher State Park, Graham Creek Nature Preserve, Gulf State Park, and Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge.

There are plenty of options for animal lovers as well: the Alligator Alley, where you can see alligators in their natural environment and feed them; walk the trails of the Audubon Bird Sanctuary; visit and learn about the live animals at the Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve; or get up close and personal with over 500 animals, including wolves, lions, tigers, primates, and bears, at the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo.
