Initial Damage Assessments from Hail Storm

Phoenix I

  • No visible damage to the roof
  • Significant number of vehicles damaged in the parking lot
  • Solar panels on gazebo damaged
  • Pool furniture damaged
  • Debris in pools and on pool deck
  • Boardwalk temporarily closed due to damage to handrails (safety issue)
  • No wet units found yet

Phoenix II

  • No visible damage to the roof
  • Significant number of vehicles damaged in the parking lot

Phoenix III

  • No visible damage to the roof
  • Significant number of vehicles damaged in the parking lot
  • Automatic doors in lobby blown off track (back in place now)
  • Several balcony spindles damaged

Phoenix IV

  • No visible damage to the roof
  • Significant number of vehicles damaged in the parking lot

Phoenix V

  • No major damage visible to the roof.  There was damage to electrical covers that protect circuit breakers on owner’s A/C units (29 units).  We are securing these from weather until the owners can have the covers replaced (note: this does not affect the operation of the A/C units).  Additionally, there was one light cover broken on the roof and two plastic electrical boxes were damaged.
  • We counted 29 vehicles with broken windows/damage this morning (note: some had already left the property).
  • Automatic doors in the lobby were damaged (we have one set operational now). The west door was blown off the hinges/frame.  Automated Doorways (vendor) will have to repair hinge and replace controller.  
  • Boardwalk has damage to railing. Not a safety issue. Status open
  • No wet units found yet

  • No visible damage to the roof

  • Damage to metal roof observed.  Chilled water pipe insulation damaged.

  • Water intrusion in chiller enclosures (note: vendor has inspected and determined that there was no damage as a result)

Phoenix Gulf Shores

  • Elevator 4 is currently out of service due to water intrusion from upper shaft vents (note: vendor contacted)
  • Minor water intrusion on west end of walkways on the 16th floor and above (note: already cleaned up), and small of amount of water intrusion from garage doors in elevator lobbies (note: already dried)
