We are closely monitoring Hurricane Ian, currently located just south of Cuba and the Yucatan Peninsula. The latest forecast for the next 24-36 hours has the hurricane strengthening significantly as it traverses north-northwestward across the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea and eventually into the southeastern Gulf of Mexico. While the long-term forecast track beyond three days remains somewhat uncertain and is very much subject to change, the National Hurricane Center currently has Ian’s potential path for the center of circulation moving to our east later sometime late this week, with potential landfall in an area stretching from the central Florida panhandle down the west coast of Florida to Naples.
As a result, Brett/Robinson personnel will monitor the progress of the storm and make decisions over the next 24 hours as to needed preparation steps. Staff members may need to enter each property unit to remove balcony furniture and perform other needed safety measures.
