Riding a Bike on the Gulf Coast
When staying at a vacation rental with Brett/Robinson on the Alabama Gulf Coast, our guests want more than your typical beach holiday. Our guests love cruising down their resorts, taking in the landscape, capturing once-in-a-lifetime photos, and sticking to their workout routines. Gulf Shores bicycle rentals are a wonderful way to stay in shape and have an unforgettable experience during your vacation.

These are some of our favorite spots to get your cycle on in the area:

  • Fort Morgan Road Trail — This trail a wide, paved path perfect for a family jaunt. The total distance is 10.8 miles, out-and-back, and it’s located close to the Rouses Shopping Center. For a fun treat beforehand, stop off for some beignets at Café Beignets, right at the start. With a level track, it’s easy enough for children, but the full length may be too much for youngsters.
  • Alabama’s Coastal Connection — If you’ve always wanted to go beach biking, this is your opportunity. This route uses a section of the bike lane along Highway 182 for a perfect view of the beach. Start at out the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail and rent your bike from Beach Bike Rentals for the easiest experience. It’s only 4 miles out and back—so it’s perfect for even amateur cyclists.
  • Coyote Crossing Trail — Another addition to the Backcountry Trail, Coyote Crossing is a fantastic multi-use route. It parallels both Alabama Highway 135 and State Park Road 2, but it’s tucked away behind some nice trees, offering fully uninterrupted riding for 3.2 miles. It’s easy for beginning riders, so you can bring children.

There are dozens of additional routes in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach to explore. Whether you’re just starting out or you’re an expert cyclist, there’s a bike path for you.
