Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘what are you doing for others?’”

Commemorating the birth of Martin Luther King Jr., this day every year is remembered for one of the leaders of the Civil Rights Movement. This movement and Martin Luthur King, Jr promoted nonviolent activism and civil disobedience to protest racial discrimination in federal and state law. Because of his actions and the actions of so many others, the Civil Rights Movement helped usher the way for a better life for many people of color across the country. Today, we honor him and all others who took a stand for what was right.

Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that.”
