Flora-Bama Oktoberfest

For most of the year, Flora-Bama is the quintessential beachside bar that has loads of summertime fun in the sun. However, for a weekend in October the fun turns to a small country in Europe 5,000 miles away from Gulf Shores, Alabama. So on this weekend you can break out your lederhosen, dirndl, and your glockenspiel, and make your way to Flora-Bama for the annual German Oktoberfest! No need to bring your own beer stein because there will enough liter steins to go around.

Located at 17401 Perdido Key Drive, outside of Pensacola on the border of Orange Beach, Alabama, Flora-Bama opens its doors to all things German with their annual Oktoberfest that always takes place on a day at the beginning of October between 2 pm and 10 pm. The party also extends to their other locations: The Flor-Bama Yacht Club and the Ole River Bar.

You will find your service staff wearing their best German outfits and may even break out in the chicken dance! German musical performances will transport you to Germany and you will be in the midst of a beer garden in Munich, all within a short drive from our Gulf Shores condos and within walking distance from some of our Orange Beach rentals, such as the Phoenix X (Phoenix 10) condo next door to Flora-Bama. The food will be German too - so fill your plate and your mug with sauerkraut, brats, and a variety of German beers.

This is a family-friendly event and anyone who comes dressed in costume will be eligible to win a door prize. Kids will be treated to their own root beer garden. The festival is free until 6pm, after that anyone older than 18 will be charged a small cover fee. A portion of the proceeds from the festival will benefit local charities.
