Labor Day Fun in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach for the Whole Family

For many Americans, Labor Day Weekend marks an unofficial end to the summer season. Fish for Glory  

Those looking for some fun on the water on their Labor Day beach vacation should look to register for the Annual 2018 MBGFC Labor Day Invitational. Registration for the tournament will take place toward the end of August, with fishing competitions in full swing in early September. Participants can pre-register and find more information about the tournament on the Mobile Big Game Fishing Club website. 

Run for Fun 

The Annual Tacky Jacks Bloody Mary 5k & 1 Mile Fun Run takes place in early September at Tacky Jacks Gulf Shores, located at 240 E 24th Ave Gulf Shores, AL 36542. This event has quickly become a Gulf Shores Labor Day tradition, as runners of all ages line up to participate in either the 5k race or the 1 Mile Fun Run.

Immediately following the race, participants are welcome to celebrate their accomplishments with a post-race party that includes free beer, food, Bloody Marys, and great live music! Labor Day Weekend also marks the start of the college football season, and we encourage participants to show off their team spirit by running the course in the colors of their favorite football team. 

Fans who represent their team in the most spirited way are even eligible to win the team spirit award, so don’t forget to bring it! Runners looking to register for the event can do so at the Harley Sports website. 

Cheer for Your Team 

The Alabama Crimson Tide start their season at the start of September. Fans can head down to the many local bars and restaurants to enjoy a cold beer and delicious food as they cheer on their favorite team. Island Wing Company, LuLu’s at Homeport Marina, and Pink Pony Pub are some of the top-rated locations in Gulf Shores to watch the game with family and friends.
