Bring the Kids to the Beach and Still Enjoy Some Free Time

Kids really know how to vacation the best. It’s always inspiring to see children having fun in the Gulf waves, building sandcastles on the beach, playing games in the pool…their energy is almost contagious. A beach vacation is simply the perfect place for kids. And though I’ve known parents to take vacations minus the kiddos, I can see how that would feel wrong for many people.

For those parents who feel the conflict of wanting their children with them on vacation and also wanting a little freedom during the beach getaway, I have three words for you: vacation with grandparents. Grandparents love to spend time with their grandchildren, so you don’t have to feel guilty about sending the kids off with them and claiming some alone time.

And in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach, there are plenty of things for kids and grandparents to do together—visit the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, explore some Gulf Shores history, or roam the beach in search of crabs and seashells. The Brett/Robinson Grandparents’ Relief Tour itinerary can provide some good ideas if needed.

Book a Gulf-front, multi-bedroom condo so everyone can stay together easily—and the grandparents will have another option for quality time with the grandkids: swimming pools.
