Wild and Wicked Beach Bash
Friday, Oct 18, 2019, starting at 4:00

The City of Gulf Shores is excited to announce the Wild and Wicked Beach Bash coming to Gulf Place Public Beach on October 18 at 4 pm. Locals and visitors are invited to wear their best Halloween costume and participate in this horrifyingly fun event featuring a Haunted Hustle 5K, Witches on Wheels and live music.

The Witches on Wheels bicycle ride begins at 6 pm to kick off the evening. Witches and warlocks are invited to jump on their brooms (bicycles will suffice) and parade around the Gulf Place Town Green throwing beads and candy to bystanders. The cost to participate in Witches on Wheels is $15 until Sept. 21. Beginning on Sept. 22, the registration fee will increase to $20. The price will include an event t-shirt.

The Haunted Hustle 5K will begin promptly at 6:30 pm. Ghosts, goblins, and monsters of all sorts are invited to enjoy an evening run on our USATF certified course. The 5K course will start and finish in front of Gulf Place Town Green. The cost to participate in the Haunted Hustle 5K is $25 until Sept. 21. The cost to attend will increase to $35 on Sept. 22. All runners will receive a t-shirt; however, only early registrants will receive their preferred shirt size.

“General admission to the Wild and Wicked Beach Bash is free,” Recreation Manager Nicole Ard said. For those who do not wish to participate in Witches on Wheels or the Haunted Hustle 5K, you are encouraged to come out, enjoy spending time with friends and listening to great music by Fly By Radio, beginning at 8 pm.

Pumpkin Play Day
Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

At the Graham Creek Nature Preserve in Foley, you can wear your costume and trick or treat in the outdoor classroom. You’ll even enjoy a free pumpkin to decorate while supplies last.

Woodstock Anniversary Costume Party
Saturday, Oct 19 from 6:00-8:30 pm

Join us on the outdoor stage for three hours of peace and music. Celebrating 50 years of Woodstock with songs, stories, and tie-dye! Enjoy the psychedelic atmosphere and wear your best Woodstock, bohemian, and hippie peace and love attire whilst enjoying the live groovy tunes of the times. Live music featuring Lisa Christian and the Bitter End Band.

The Park After Dark
Sept 21-Nov 3, 5:30-7:30

Last year’s Park After Dark was such fun that we decided to bring it back and make it better than ever!
Join us on Saturdays and Sundays inside The Park at OWA for a variety of kid-friendly events and activities. Grab the kiddos and spend a Halloween-themed day in The Park as they trick-or-treat, create fun arts and crafts, and make lasting memories!
Specific times and activities for The Park After Dark will be posted soon! Dates and Park hours are subject to change. Check the website for most current updates.

 

Known Deaths and Burials at Fort Morgan
Oct 23-Oct 26 from 6:00-7:00

Take a tour by candlelight through the brick tunnels of this massive structure and hear the stories of visitors from the past. Historical interpreters dressed in period clothing will be throughout the fort portraying the life of someone who once lived at Fort Morgan.

Tours will be guided through uneven surfaces in dark areas and visitors may encounter wildlife. This tour is recommended for ages 13 and over. Tickets will be sold in advance. Cryptocon 2019: A Bigfoot Paranormal Festival

Annual Halloween BooLu’s and Trunk or Treat:
Saturday, Oct 26, from 2:00-6:00

Enjoy a day full of Halloween festivities and kid’s costume contest at LuLu’s Gulf Shores Annual BooLu’s Halloween event. Grab a broomstick and fly in for the fun from 2 – 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 26.

BooLu’s will have pumpkin decorating, kid’s crafts, inflatable play area, and costume contest. Trunk or Treat will feature trick-or-treating on the LuLu’s grounds during BooLu’s with various businesses and non-profits handing out candy treats to the little goblins. Registration and judging for the costume contest, by age category, will take place from 2 pm-5:30 pm. Kids can come dressed in their most creative costumes such as witches, zombies, ghosts, superheroes, fairies and the like to partake in the costume contest with prizes for the winners. Best of all, this day of fun events is all free.

“All in all, it’s a great Halloween celebration for kids of all ages and their families,” commented Lucy Buffett, LuLu’s owner, and author. “BooLu’s is definitely in keeping with our family-oriented tradition at LuLu’s. We love spreading the Gumbo Love!”

 

Spooky Movie on The Lawn
The Wharf, Saturday, Oct 26 from 2:00-9:00

Are you looking to have a spook-takular good time this fall!? Join us on Marina Lawn for a wicked good time at Spooky Movie on the Lawn featuring COCO! This monster mash will be filled with delicious buttery complimentary popcorn from AMC Theatre and hauntingly good hot cocoa from Kilwins! To top it off we have a magical Halloween hayride provided by Kutter’s Landscaping. Don’t forget to grab your chairs, blankets, and pillows to complete your boo-tiful night!

Come early and dressed in your top Halloween costume for mischief pumpkin painting and trick-or-treating at our participating stores! Trick or Treating will take place at Wharf retailers on Main Street starting at 2 pm until the candy runs out. Paint a pumpkin on Marina Lawn from 5-7 pm for only $10!

Pumpkin painting $10; pony rides $5 and face-painting $5 – $7; complimentary popcorn by AMC Theatre and free hot chocolate from Kilwins while supplies last. Trick or Treat beginning at 2 pm. Participating stores will be identified with door hangers. Kid’s activities begin at 4 pm, including pony rides, face painting, and a bouncy house. Hayrides, 5pm-7pm; Movie begins at 7:30pm

 

Foley Witches Ride
Saturday, Oct 26 at 5:00 Downtown

The Society of Black Hats will present the Foley Witches Ride, taking place in Downtown Foley on Saturday, October 26 at 5 pm. The ride will conclude with a street after-party featuring food trucks and a live band. The community is invited to gather and watch more than 200 witches ride the streets of Foley. Route map to be published later. This unique and exciting bike parade benefits two local charities: Family Promise and the backpack feeding program through St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

Rider tickets to go on sale Saturday, July 13. Rider tickets include an event t-shirt and access to the street after-party. Non-riders can attend the street after-party by purchasing an after-party-only ticket. All participants must be 21 or older. Purchase tickets here. It will be a fang-tastic evening with tons and tons of scary good candy! Come dressed up in your fear-inspiring attire for a ghoulishly delightful Halloween night with tons of fun, family-friendly activities including painting pumpkins in Palms Plaza and costume contests!

Camel rides $5, Painting Pumpkins $10, and face painting $5 – $10
