One Day A Year to be Irish!

My Post-111If you ARE Irish, you get to enjoy all that entails every day but for most of us, we only get to celebrate once a year. From dancing an Irish jig to wearing that beautiful color green to indulging in a whiskey or tasting a Guinness, St. Patrick’s Day can be fun for the whole family! If you are going to be in our area during 2019’s St. Paddy’s Day, we’ve compiled all kinds of fun within walking or driving distance of where you are staying!

The Hangout

You can enjoy live music ALL day March 17th from 10 am to 10 pm with the Kilted Kings, Magic Johnson’s and Pop Fiction! Enjoy corned beef Rueben with fries and pickle for lunch! More corned beef is on the menu for dinner along with cabbage and red potato cornbread! Stay late for the Late-Night Party from 10 pm to 2 am with a live DJ, boiler room style!

Papa Rocco’s

The St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl is back and better than ever! There will be championship bagpipers, drink specials, Dublin Down Irish Band, Jan Gallo and the Hangmen plus so much more! Party kickoff is at 8:00. Papa Rocco’s kitchen will open at 11 am serving corn beef and cabbage. Show up in your best green gear and celebrate the biggest party of the year!

Orange Beach hosts the only local Irish bar (and a local favorite hangout). Come by to enjoy the everyday fun of Irish music, drinks, and atmosphere anytime during St. Paddy’s Day weekend.

People come from miles away to enjoy the Irish fare at McGuire’s on a typical weekend night but can you imagine what fun will be on the menu on St. Paddy’s Day weekend?! If you want to get in on the fun a little early, McGuire’s will host their 42nd Annual 5K on March 9th. You can work off those calories before the day of green even arrives!

St. Paddy’s Day Parade

In downtown Mobile, you can see Saint Patrick himself! (Or at least a well-dressed double leading the parade through town!) Enjoy all the Irish (and their friends) parading through the streets! What a great way to keep that Mardi Gras spirit alive, am I right?!

St. Patrick’s Day Mass

The first Catholic Parish on the Gulf Coast, established in 1703, was named the Church of the Immaculate Conception and founded its Cathedral in 1829. You can experience this beautiful building and its history during St. Patrick’s Day mass.

73rd Annual Callaghan’s St. Patrick’s Day Street Party

Named the South’s Best Bar by Southern Living, Callaghan’s Irish Social Club will host its 73rd annual street party with two days of live music! Can you imagine a sea of green, as far as the eye can see? You can experience it live and in person when you visit Callaghan’s during St. Paddy’s Day weekend! You won’t regret it!

Erin Go Bragh this St. Patrick’s Day! We look forward to welcoming all of our “Irish” friends to the beach in March!
