Explore The Alabama Gulf Coast The Local Way
I don’t know about you but when I vacation I like to spend at least one day exploring local spots. You know, the places found off the beaten path. Those hidden gems, if you will. It’s always fun to immerse yourself into local living – especially at the beach. The laid-back vibes of Gulf Shores are sure to have you planning your move down here (or at least your next vacation).
One of the best spots for getting your caffeine fix is Foam Coffee in Gulf Shores, a unique spot known for its clean design, artisan coffee and friendly vibes. You’ll want to stay all day and chat with other patrons based on the atmosphere alone.
If you like to start your morning with brunch, head to Duck’s Diner in Orange Beach. Locally owned and operated, you’ll be able to grab breakfast anytime between 7:00 am and 2:00 pm! Southern food with friendly service with the possibility of a food coma, what else could you want?
After you’ve fueled up on coffee and brunch head to Gulf State Park to rent a kayak. Exploring the park on Lake Shelby is a great way to stay active and relaxed all at the same time.
Around here, mid-afternoon calls for brews at Big Beach Brewing. This local brewery is a great spot to unwind and really get to know the locals. Even though it’s a brewery – it’s definitely family friendly! Grab a brew and play a game of corn-hole while you decide what’s for dinner.
One of my favorite spots to have dinner and watch the sunset is The Gulf. Kids can play in the sand while you enjoy some fish tacos and take in the scenery!
Enjoy the beach like the locals and really take in coastal living.
