If you’re in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach and haven’t been to the National Shrimp Festival yet, get there. Now. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is fun and lively, and there are so many vendors selling various items, you’ll be set for holiday shopping. Plus there are guys playing steel drums, which (let’s be honest) is just cool.
If you weren’t able to make it this weekend, no worries. There are other fun events coming up this month; some even involve food.
Next Saturday, October 22nd, for instance, there’s a 5 Rivers Delta Safari Sunset Wine Tasting Cruise—cruise along the delta, view the sunset, and enjoy some wine. Then the following Saturday, October 29th, is the Original German Sausage Festival, where you can enjoy tasty sausage, baked goods, and the “Bier Garten” with its variety of imported beer; live music, carnival rides, and arts and crafts will also be part of the festivities.
The music and nightlife will be pretty active, too: the O.A.R. concert is scheduled for Thursday, October 20th at The Hangout, and every night there is something going on at places like LuLu’s and Tacky Jack’s—think live music, karaoke, and beer.
There’s plenty to do and still time to plan it, so get down there—the Gulf is waiting for you.
