Valentine’s Day at the beach: top 4 picks for a romantic beach dinner
Plan to take your sweetheart to the beach for Valentine’s Day. It’s just around the corner, so it’s a good idea to book a condo stay now.
Deciding on a restaurant will be your hardest task, as the Alabama coast has many wonderful chefs who prepare exquisite meals. Keep reading to discover some of my favorite upscale places for a romantic night out.
1. Fisher’s Upstairs at Orange Beach Marina
Fisher’s Upstairs at Orange Beach Marina offers locally sourced ingredients on delicious dishes such as Oysters Earle, marinated crab claws and fresh gulf fish of the day. Or try the fennel-spiced swordfish, filet mignon or steak & frites. Fisher’s has an extensive wine list, along with craft cocktails. Be sure to make a reservation.
2. Cobalt the Restaurant
Cobalt the Restaurant on Perdido Pass is one of my favorite restaurants any time of year. Enjoy a peppercorn encrusted filet, the Bronze Gulf Grouper, dinner pasta or even pizza. You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. You’re gonna want to save room for dessert, but it’s hard to choose between the vanilla bean creme brûlée, banana pudding or the triple layer chocolate cake. Go ahead and order one of each for sharing and for a decadent snack at home.
3. Ginny Lane Bar & Grill
Ginny Lane Bar & Grill at The Wharf has a wonderful selection of fresh, local seafood as well as terrific steak. The restaurant has a beautiful view, nice wine list and craft cocktails. Have a glass of top-quality, imported wine with some seared crab cakes or bacon-wrapped gulf shrimp.
4. Sunset Cork Room
The Sunset Cork Room in Gulf Shores offers delicious seafood dishes and perfectly prepared steak, along with rack of lamb. Start off with a small plate of Sweet Home Farm cheeses or lamb lollipops. Their wine room is overflowing with excellent possibilities for interesting and delicious pairings.
