Summer is Over, But the Halloween Season is About to Begin

Seeing summer vacation come to an end is always a bummer, but the up side is we’realmost to one of my favorite times of the year: Halloween! All we have to do is make it through the rest of September and the fun fall festivities begin!

This year I’m kicking off the Halloween season at the 3rd Annual Scarecrow Festival on Friday, October 7th. Family will be visiting us that weekend, and we’re planning to take my young cousin—but really I wanted to attend this festival anyway! (I’m dragging my friends along, too—they know they really want to go!) It’s a chance to build a scarecrow, paint a pumpkin, dress up in a Halloween costume—a chance to have fun and be a kid again, no matter your age. Best of all, it’s a free event.

And this is just the start—so many other events are coming up next month, from the 7th Annual Pumpkin Patch Express (every Thursday through Sunday throughout October) to Thunder on the Gulf and the National Shrimp Festival. So much to do, so much to plan. Don’t miss out!
