Brittany blog: A teen’s guide to spending a fall weekend at the beach
Brittany here, filling in for my Uncle Bob! I thought I would give the rundown on why the beach is on fleek during the fall!
First up is the shopping! Of course! There are so many great boutiques, specialty shops and clothing stores, I can’t even! I check out the shopping centers like The Wharf, Tanger Outlets and Pelican Place, but there are also a ton of smaller shopping areas where I find unique clothes, accessories and gifts.
Next: Nature! I am lovin’ the biking on the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail at Gulf State Park. I see all types of animals and wildlife! It is peaceful and calm, and now I can bike in cooler temperatures. There are other places to get outside and hike, including the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, which I love, love, love! I walk through the hiking path, across the dunes and over to the gulf – and sometimes see an alligator!
Last, but not least, is the beach. It’s beautiful with white sand meeting blue-green surf. The beach seems to stretch forever and it seems I have the whole place all to myself. I can sit for hours, read a book, listen to music, stare at the water and, on a warm day, jump into the waves!
Like I said, I am lovin’ a fall beach getaway!
