My parents have taken a winter escape to Gulf Shores & Orange Beach this week. Right about now they’re kicking back in their Gulf-front condo, going for a swim in the indoor pool, or maybe taking a walk on the white-sand beaches. Jealous? Yes, I am. Particularly when they called me to ask my advice on winter activities (and went on and on about the gorgeous view from their balcony).
Jealousy aside, I was able to point them in the direction of some area activities and events. This time of year there are various snowbird events taking place—such as the 13th Annual Snowbird Bratfest on February 5th and the Snowbird Pancake Breakfast on February 12th. Actually, several winter activities are taking place throughout February, including the Coastal Choral Snowbird Serenade and the Winter Guest Mardi Gras Dance. The Brett/Robinson website lists winter activities taking place throughout the season.
My father liked the suggestion of a guided nature tour, and my mother was excited to hear about the Big Band Concert Series featuring the Glenn Miller Orchestra on February 3rd. I think they have plenty of ideas to keep them busy; more information on activities and events is available on the Brett/Robinson website and OrangeBeachToday.com.
