Alabama Arts in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach

More Info

The beach is always a fantastic place for artistic inspiration. Whether you enjoy the visual arts or the performing arts, you'll find something that inspires in the Gulf Shores area. Every year, Gulf Shores' white sand beaches and emerald waters call artists from around the country to participate in festivals, camaraderie, and artistic reflection.

The Orange Beach Festival of Art in March involves rows of visual arts displays, live music, food and entertainment as well as an art contest. Last year's featured juror, Bruce Helander, was featured in the New Yorker and has work on display in over 50 museum collections nationwide. Another popular Orange Beach arts festival is the Wine Festival. What goes better with Gulf Coast arts than wine? The wine festival also features an arts fair that showcases the work of artists and artisans in the area.

If you love the performing arts, there are some community theaters in the Gulf Shores area that put on productions year-round. Theatre 98 in Fairhope has been putting on plays since 1960 and has evening productions throughout the year. If you are in Gulf Shores between August and May, The South Baldwin Community Theater gives performances every weekend. They often perform plays written by local playwrights.
