If the need to escape the heat of August by vacationing in a Gulf-front rental with access to a pool and the possibility to relax on the beach isn’t enough of a reason to book a Gulf Shores & Orange Beach vacation this month, I have another good reason. Actually, I have two: Bulls on the Beach and the SEC BeachFest, two August events that are taking place next week.
The Bulls on the Beach event is scheduled for August 23rd to 25th and, yes, it will involve bulls—bull riding and bull fighting—which is pretty cool all by itself, but there’s more to it than that. There will be a meet and greet with the stars from the Country Music Television shows Southern Nights and Sweet Home Alabama, a Pat Green concert, a mechanical bull riding contest, and several other events.
Then there’s the SEC BeachFest, which is scheduled for August 23rd to 26th. If you love SEC football and simply cannot wait for the start of the SEC football season, this is the event for you. Appearances by legendary SEC coaches and players, ESPN commentators, and live music are some of what you can expect during the SEC BeachFest weekend.
Book that Orange Beach condo and head to the beach for a few days. You won’t regret it.
