The great thing about summer vacations is they are often long vacations. When I vacation on the beach in the middle of summer, I like it to be a lengthy stay—at least a week, and maybe even longer (hello Brett/Robinson free night specials—ten nights for the cost of seven).
And while I could easily spend a full week (or longer) relaxing on the beach and swimming in an Orange Beach condo pool, it’s nice to have other options of things to do and places to go. Whether you want to go shopping, or check out some historic sites, or maybe spend the day enjoying nature and animal life, Gulf Shores & Orange Beach is an excellent place for a Gulf Coast daycation.
What’s great about the daycation plan is you choose your favorites and spread them out
over several days. If you love shopping, you could spend a whole day browsing shops in various popular Gulf Shores & Orange Beach shopping spots. Or if you’re feeling outdoorsy, a hiking and kayaking daycation is a fun option, complete with hiking trails and kayaking tours.
One of my favorite daycations is the patriotic daycation—Battleship USS Alabama Memorial Park, Fort Morgan, and the National Naval Aviation Museum are some sites you might visit on this type of vacation.
