The Perfect Summer Vacation Week in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach

So one of my best friends, who moved away last year, is coming back to Gulf Shores & Orange Beach to visit for a week, and I’m so excited! I’m getting a group of friends together to plan what I hope will be the best beach week of the summer. This is both an easy and hard task, given the number of options of things to do. Here’s what I’m thinking of so far:

Hanging out on the beach is an obvious choice. The beach at Gulf State Park is a personal favorite of mine, plus you have the rest of the park to enjoy—including the Gulf State Park Pier. Fishing on the pier was one of our favorite activities when this particular friend still lived here, so that should go over well.

We’ll also have to hit some favorite Gulf Shores attractions. Waterville USA and The Track are always popular options with my crowd—nothing beats waterslides and go-karts in the summer! Oh, and the Ferris wheel at The Wharf at night—another must with a group of friends.

And of course, we’ll have to check out the Gulf Coast nature scene. I think a morning bike ride along the Hugh S. Branyon Back Country Trail is in order, and maybe a trip to the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo. I’d also like to do some kayaking with BeachnRiver Kayaking.

This is just the start of my plan. Time to let the others in on it and really plan something special.
