Can you believe the Fourth of July is just next week? This has always been a favorite holiday, ever since I was kid, when my parents and our neighbors would throw one big neighborhood party—cookouts, swimming with friends at the neighbor’s pool, and of course the fireworks at night. I’ve never been able to throw my own Fourth of July party that compares.
So maybe I should move the party to Gulf Shores & Orange Beach. Just picture it: a group of friends and family members and a Brett/Robinson beach house. We’d have the comfort and privacy of our own house on the beach, ideal for a few days of cooking out and beach partying. And with the space afforded by a house, we could get a pretty good group together.
Then on July 4th we could check out some Gulf Shores events, like the Gulf Shores Annual Fireworks Extravaganza at 8 p.m. We might even be able to catch this fireworks display right from our own beach, complete with patriotic music if we tune into Sunny 105.7. There’s also the Fort Morgan Salute to American Independence at Historic Fort Morgan—a very appropriate activity for celebrating Independence Day.
Sounds like an excellent plan to me, and a great excuse for a Gulf vacation.
