Longer Days Means Fun Nights on the Gulf Coast

We’ve officially reached the summer solstice, and you know what that means: longer days. I always feel much less stressed and much more energized when daylight extends longer into the evening hours, and this is a particularly savory feeling during vacation.

So when you’re kicking back during that Gulf Shores & Orange Beach vacation this summer and wondering what to do during those still-bright evenings, keep some of these activities in mind:

First, there’s always the local music and nightlife scene. One of my favorite Gulf Shores night activities is to go somewhere like LuLu’s or The Hangout and enjoy some live music, delicious food, and a beach-side setting. Tacky Jack’s is another fun option for live music—head over to Tacky Jack’s in Gulf Shores on Wednesday evenings and you can catch the open mic performances. Always a fun time.

Then next Thursday (June 28th) is Music at Meyer Park featuring Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band. The show begins at 6 p.m.—a nice time of evening to enjoy some truly unique music.

It’s also a good time of year to catch a Gulf sunset. An Orange Beach cruise is one way to accomplish this (sunset and dinner cruises are excellent choices). Or you could just spend the evening relaxing on the balcony of your Gulf-front condo. Sometimes a glass of wine and a Gulf view is the best way to say goodnight.
