Summer vacation is officially here! No school, no homework, fun times with friends…so is it weird that I’m already thinking about the end of summer break?
Maybe it is, but I do this for a couple reasons. One, the pessimistic side of me can’t help but acknowledge that the summer fun will eventually come to an end. But I also have a positive reason for looking ahead—the SEC BeachFest August 23rd to 26th in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach.
The whole BeachFest weekend will serve as a kickoff to the 2012 college football season, and there are going to be some really cool people and activities—former and current SEC coaches and players, ESPN commentators, live music and concerts, an alumni golf tournament, and a 5K Fun Run and pancake breakfast.
Saying goodbye to summer is always painful, but I can’t think of a better way to end the season. Plus it’s a good reason for some out-of-town family members to come visit—if they book with Brett/Robinson they can get free tickets for the SEC BeachFest! The Phoenix All Suites Hotel is right on the beach fest location (just saying)…
And now back to summer vacation…there will be plenty of Gulf Shores events to enjoy over the next couple of months.
