Summer is Nearly Here—Time for a Family Beach Vacation

It’s almost officially summer, and you know what that means—the kiddos are out of school for the next couple of months, making it the perfect time for a family vacation. Generally, a good location for a family summer vacation should meet two requirements: it should be kid-friendly, and it should offer plenty of ways to cool off.

I know several families who are planning vacations in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach this summer, and it’s easy to see why. As far as keeping cool, I can think of several methods—like the swimming pool at your Orange Beach condo or Gulf-front hotel. Several Brett/Robinson condos also have lazy rivers (stay somewhere like Phoenix West and you’ll get a waterslide with that lazy river). If you want to venture outside of your condo or hotel, there’s always Waterville USA in Gulf Shores, or you can keep it free by simply venturing out to the actual Gulf of Mexico.

And what better way to make an area kid-friendly than to offer kid-friendly events? All summer long you’ll find activities geared specifically towards kids, such as the Summer Camp for Ocean Lovers and Future Marine Scientists in Orange Beach and the Coast360 Beach Games. Several Brett/Robinson amenities are also kid-friendly, including the splash pad at Phoenix East, the kiddie pools at several condominiums, and the bunk beds at the Phoenix All Suites Hotels.

Well I must say this was the first and LAST time I use Brett Robinson for my vacation rentals in Gulf Shores or anywhere for that matter. They have outgrown themselves, become so compartmentalized that one hand has not clue with the other hand is doing. They are so disjointed and outdated in their reservations and management of their properties its absurd to say the least. I will live another post with specific details regarding our disaster of a vacation. For now, ask questions regarding the property you are considering booking, age and condistion of the building and units…..do it for your own good!
