Have you ever spent Memorial Day weekend on the Gulf? If not, you should—there’s still
time to plan a trip down to Gulf Shores & Orange Beach this weekend. I can tell you from experience that it would be one of the most memorable Memorial Days you’ll experience.
I’ve been fortunate enough to do a couple Memorial Day weekend Orange Beach vacations with family over the years, and it’s always such a blast. One year we booked a Brett/Robinson beach house. This was the perfect setting for a family gathering: about 15 of us stayed in the house, which gave us plenty of space and privacy from other vacationers. We grilled out on Memorial Day and had our own party on the beach—somebody brought horseshoes, and I dominated the horseshoes “tournament.” Such fun memories.
Another year we rented a couple two-bedroom condos at Gulf Shores Surf & Racquet Club. We spent a fantastic weekend enjoying amenities like the outdoor pool, tennis courts, hot tub, and, of course, the grills (the Memorial Day weekend practically demands a cookout with a grill). But the highlight of that trip was the property’s pier and boat launch on Little Lagoon—and the boat my uncle had bought shortly before the vacation. Good times were spent on the water that weekend!
It’s not too late to plan a Memorial Day weekend getaway. If you need a little more incentive, take a look at Brett/Robinson’s free night specials—maybe four nights for the price of three is in order.
