Six months ago I was in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach playing golf in the morning and going
for a swim in the afternoon. This weekend I’ll be going for a swim in the morning and playing golf in the afternoon. That’s the beauty of winter golf vacations: they change things up a bit.
I’m going on a quick weekend golf getaway to the Gulf this weekend, and thanks to the cold weather my activities will be the reverse of what they were in the summer. Of course, by “cold” I mean lows in the 30s and 40s and highs in the 60s. It’s a perfect setup for playing afternoon golf—something that’s pretty difficult to pull off in the summer due to the heat.
And since the Phoenix condo I’m staying in has an indoor pool, I can do my swimming during the morning hours—a nice invigorating start to the day.
But best of all are the winter rates—Brett/Robinson’s golf vacation packages have the lowest rates this time of year. So I get to play some excellent golf courses at an affordable rate and stay in a Gulf-front condo—it’s the best early Christmas present I’ve given myself yet.
