Learn Some Different Holiday Cooking Styles

Cooking is on the minds of many people this time of year. It’s on my mind for sure—I always try to come up with a new, different kind of recipe for holiday meals. Usually, it turns out pretty well, except for the time I made Kahlua brownies (with too much Kahlua). But I’m always open to new ideas and anything that might spark some culinary creativity.

So if you’re going to be in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach this weekend or next and you’re looking for some Thanksgiving and/or Christmas meal ideas, you might check out one of the cooking classes scheduled on November’s calendar of events.

First up is the Holiday Cajun Style Cooking Class this Saturday, November 12th at 3 p.m. Learn about Cajun style cooking and actually prepare a meal in this class—it could be a good way to learn how to add a little spicy kick to your turkey dinner.

If you’re seeking ideas for a good dessert, try the Cheesecake Cooking Class on the following Saturday, November 19th. Sign up for this class and you’ll get to prepare a variety of cheesecakes with different crusts, garnishes, and sauces. I would take this class any time of year—cheesecake is absolutely the best.

And though it’s not exactly a traditional “holiday meal,” sushi would be an impressive dish to make; you can learn how in the Sushi Cooking Class, also on November 19th.
