Photo Contest Voting Starts Today!

Somehow, I managed to miss out on a photo contest that took place on the Alabama Gulf Coast Facebook page, which is too bad—I’m pretty good with a camera, and I’ve had some excellent vacations this summer. I have so many photos I could’ve possibly submitted.

Earlier this summer, we took a beautiful family photo on the beach in front of Phoenix East at sunset—I mean, we timed this picture perfectly. The lighting and the colors in the sky were magical. But the best part of trying to get this picture was the first shot I took—trying to beat the camera timer, I tripped and landed face-first in the sand. The camera caught that magical moment, too. It’s a pretty comical photo…that’s actually the photo I probably would’ve submitted.

I also have this great shot of my Dad teeing off during one of our many golf outings, and a really sweet shot of my young niece and nephew building a sandcastle together. It truly was a fantastic summer on the Gulf.

I may have missed the opportunity to submit my own photo, but now comes the fun part: voting. As of today, voting on the best photo is open to the general public. This means I’ll be quite distracted at work, looking at other people’s vacation photos and dreaming of my next trip to the Gulf. Good luck to those who submitted!
