Warm weather is so conducive to cooking out. Lately, with the warmer temperatures, the hungrier I’ve been for a good cookout. Luckily, there are a couple food-related events coming up near Gulf Shores & Orange Beach.
This Saturday, March 19th, is the 3rd Annual BBQ and Blues Cook-off at Foley Heritage Park. In addition to BBQ tasting, the event will also include entertainment, children’s activities, and a silent auction. And if you buy a ticket for admission ($10 per person) you’ll be entered for a chance to win one of several prizes, including three nights in a three-bedroom Gulf condo, a diamond and gold necklace, and a $50 Walmart gift card.
The following Saturday, March 26th, is the Original German Sausage Festival at Elberta Town Park. From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. you get the chance to taste the secret German sausage recipe developed by the founding fathers of Elberta, Alabama, while also enjoying live entertainment, arts and crafts, rides, and baked goods. There’s even a Bier Garten with lots of imported beers. The best part of this event: it’s free.
These are just a couple of the many events taking place in the area this month. Check them out at Brett/Robinson’s events calendar.
